Art Dump 3

More old things, to make up for the lack of new things.

Communication Corporation!
Best band to dance to, ever.

Colored version. I unfortunately can't find this piece.
Ah well, I wanted to start a new one anyway.

A birthday card for my friend Kyle.
Nothing says happy birthday like a brooding Shostakovich...

Gouache and Graffiti

Mmm... I think I have a case of the crazy eyes in this picture.
Anyway, this is a reversed image of a gouache painting I did in color class last week. I'm pretty proud of it! I only wish I had more time to finish it!

Since break started, I have just been drawing graffiti for people. I liked them so I thought I'd post them, just as my good friend Emily McMahon did... her blog is: http://emilymcmahon.blogspot.com/

Note Worthy Occurrences

Today was the official last day of my first year of college. Good thing too, one more week of this and I probably would've died.
My last day consisted of Willocks Waffles (I couldn't think of a clever way to combine the two.), hobo naps, milkshakes and heartfelt goodbyes. All of that, and one of the worst LIRR experiences, ever. I am so ready to sleep... but before I do, I wanted to share a few little things.

First order of business is Sal/Zach.
When my friend Zach puts on stylish sunglasses he strongly resembles a young Sal Catalano.
Or... at least I think he does...

One of the best days from this year, I believe. Some of the kids from the "new" block and I went to Janis Salek and Karen Santry's art gallery. It turned into an epic trek across the Brooklyn Bridge which concluded in a ride on the Staten Island Ferry. It was a lot of fun. I'm really going to miss these guys over the summer!

Last and certainly not least, the Sausage wall.
This is what FIT students do.
I'm going to miss you guys! Thanks for the great semester!

Okay, off to bed!

Sal Drawings

Some figure drawings from Sal Catalano's figure drawing class.
I feel like I really improved my drawing skills this semester.

Light!

Playing with light.

Final!

Stickers?

We made promotional stickers today in photoshop!
I'm pretty happy with the way they came out.
They feature my lovely Alexander Platsburg. :3

Oh, The Hazards of Love

"She being full of charity a credit to her sex
Sought to right the fawn's hind legs
When here her plans were vexed
The Taiga shifted strange
The beast began to change
Singing ...oh The Hazards of Love"

I finally got this back.
The assignment was to illustrate a song or a fairy tale. I chose the Decemberists (surprise, surprise!) Hazards of love I.

Heres a detail shot. Margaret looks like shes crying in pain instead of being... surprised. :/
ohhhhwell.

I want this year to hurry up and end already.

Platypus!

I was cleaning out some old photos on my computer and decided to upload some old things.
A friend of mine wanted a tattoo of a Platypus in a top hat. Here are the doodles!

This is the design she went with.

This one was my personal favorite, though. I named him Sir Alexander Platsburg after Alex DeLarge from A Clockwork Orange. I wanted him to have a voice similar to that of Malcolm McDowell.

Real Horror Show!
