At Long Last: SNOWCONE: THE SOCIOPATH'S DOG

SNOWCONE: THE SOCIOPATH’S DOG
The story of a good dog owned by a not so good person.
A quirky little story I had the pleasure of illustrating for the talented Robert Maxwell Gibson. This is my first ever published work, that is now available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle form! Please check it out, spread the word!

Some Life Paintings

That will never be finished. So sad.

Top is oils, bottom acrylic.

Really wish I could scan these, but literally ever time I try, there's someone hogging the scan computer... one day, one day...

The Crane Wife

Another quick concept image for "The Crane Wife"

April 29, 2012

It Was A White Crane...

It was a helpless thing...
Upon a red stain, with an arrow in it's wing...
and it called and cried, and it called and cried so... Here's a concept painting for the Crane Wife, I'm not entirely content with this. I may revisit, but for now, and the sake of the project, here it is. The colors are off, I'll scan it all nice proper soon.

This Here Giraffe...

This got a bit of paint for the senior show. The coloring is off in this photo, I promise the differences aren't this dramatic.

The piece I got in this years FIT senior show. Haha, the only decent painting I've ever done.

"The Horror, the Horror!"

A quick book cover for Joseph Conrad's, Heart of Darkness
I wanted a bold look for the cover, an all encompassing blackness. Hmm... or Darkness... oohhh!
I want to try and do more book covers in a similar minimalist style like this.
Seem like less is more nowadays!

The Elephant God

This was somewhat inspired by this Magic Card; Loxodon Hierarch.
The card sorta disturbed/inspired me. I kept calling the figure in the card "The Elephant God", so I decided to do a painting of my own Elephant God.

Yup, okay.

I consider this one a rough, mainly because its done on a SUPER shitty and rough plank of wood. It was hard to refine the painting the way I wanted...
Ah well, I'm going to pick up some smoother boards later today/week and do two portraits of the Elephant Gods on them. One will be an African Elephant and one an Asian Elephant.

In other news, I'm an art teacher! How about that?
I'll be teaching adults how to paint and draw multiple days a week at this snazzy art store; PJ Art Company

James Train and Other Sketches

I haven't really been arting very much lately. A sketch here, a random painting there...

I will hopefully get this done before school starts. I don't have the energy to explain what the entire painting in a whole is going to be but, I can tell you that what you're looking at are brains and not entrails.

"Put it in the trash can! You don't want the raccoons to make off with his pride!"

And a Julian.

Artschool Round II

We had to create a blog in photoshop today.
I haven't updated since last semester, so I'll take this opportunity to update now.

"Well, it's the future!"
A project for our general illustration class.
Our assignment was to illustrate a futuristic advance that hasn't be created yet. I came up with Music generated energy. I used a picture from my year book for the reference.

Close up on the orchestra

close up on Mr.Preddice!

our first project for general illustration. We had to illustrate of the of the seven deadly sins. Mine was sloth.
