Sketchbook Pages

A few things from my sketchbook I thought I'd share.

"I have three hours of Art History that I don't really need to pay attention to... How about a hyper rendered pen drawing of The Queen?"

A still life of found objects.
A Raccoon Skull that goes by the name of "Flakey" Pete, a whiskey glass and an empty bottle of Chambord.

Some Assorted Tidbits

Select things from my new Moleskin

Julian :)

This weekend I attended the Decemberists' Lottery concert. It was absolutely fantastic!
Here are a few shots from the show. I apologize for the low quality.

Mmmm. Colin! :D

Lazy Jelly Sandwiches

These few weeks have been nothing short of wonderful.
It has mostly consisted of obscure instruments, questionable art supplies, delightful people, breakfast burritos and extreme mammals.

Here are some of the final pages of my moleskin

"I'm seeing bones! I love it!"

James Train and Other Sketches

I haven't really been arting very much lately. A sketch here, a random painting there...

I will hopefully get this done before school starts. I don't have the energy to explain what the entire painting in a whole is going to be but, I can tell you that what you're looking at are brains and not entrails.

"Put it in the trash can! You don't want the raccoons to make off with his pride!"

And a Julian.

Aborigines and Didgeridoos

For the past week and a half there has been an on going party at my friend Zach's house. There has been a constant flow of amazing people coming to stay and party.
There was one day where we pooled all our money and tried to throw a fantastic and wild party. This was the The Aborigine Party.
The idea was we'd cook food in the ground, cover our bodies in paint, play drums and didgeridoos and dance around a massive bon fire.
It... um... didn't quite turn out like we planned.
Our food didn't cook, we didn't play any instruments and our fire failed.
Aside from that, it was really fun, but it could hardly be called an Aborigine party. We will hopefully be attempting another one soon.
Here are some pictures!

James, our minstrel. This was the best picture taken from the party.

Our food basket. It did not cook at all... We had to use tinfoil and ovens eventually, it was terribly disappointing and un-aborigine like.

4th of July Sketches

There are lot of weird looking people on the beach.
I drew them when I wasn't busy being ravaged by the sun. I only wish I got more drawings done.

And Now for Something COMPLETELY Different...

I found an American Diner today.
It was amazing, free water, no cover charge and BURGERS.
Everyone spoke english, even the customers... it was so relaxing to be in the American element.

This is my placemat.
I was free to doodle whatever I wanted to. I miss drawing like this...

In its entirety!

The Rare and Beautiful Creature enjoying an ice treat... in a birds nest.

I really like this thing.
It was inspired by some graffiti I saw here.

Italy Sketchbook III

Rape of the Sabine Women, yet again. It really difficult to draw a statue from below. :/
"I like the spoofies..." Says Michaelle.
The Loggia is pretty awesome, there will probably be more sketches from there in the near future.

Inside San Spirito. Where I got viciously reprimanded in Italian for some mystery reason...
Hmm.
I got bored with the altar piece and decided to draw Michaelle and ManChild.

I feel my ability slowly going down hill ....
